Refer to one of website that I’ve visit, the diagnosis of the mesothelioma is often difficult, because the symptoms are similar to those of a certain number of other conditions. I’m just simplify all off this article by doing a short phrase
“An examination of the medical antecedents of the patient, including the history of the asbestos exposure is taken, followed by a complete physical examination, x-rays of the trunk or the abdomen, and the tests of function of lung. A sweeping of CT or a MRI can also be currently made. If unspecified among these preliminary tests prove suspicious for the mesothelioma; a biopsy is necessary to confirm this diagnosis.”

If you are not understood, it’s better to read on in this post. If I’m not mistaken, the main source of this real article is coming from national cancer institute. Actually you will get more explanation in the next sentence.
The diagnosis starts with an examination of the medical antecedents of the patient, including any history of asbestos exposure. A complete physical examination can be carried out, including x-rays of the tests of function of trunk or abdomen and lung. A sweeping of CT (or CAT) or a MRI ( Magnetic Resonance Imaging ) can also be useful. A sweeping of CT ( Computed Tomography ) is a series of detailed images of the sectors inside the body created by a computer related to a machine of x-ray. In a MRI, a powerful magnet related to a computer is used to make the detailed images of the sectors inside the body. These images are looked on a monitor and can also be printed.
A biopsy is necessary to confirm a diagnosis of the mesothelioma. In a biopsy, a surgeon or a medical oncologist (a doctor which specialize while diagnosing and by treating cancer) removes a fabric sample for the examination under a microscope by a pathologist. A biopsy can be made in various manners, according to where the abnormal sector is localized. If cancer is in the trunk, the doctor can carry out a thoracoscopy. This process, the doctor made with a small cut through the wall of trunk and puts a thin and lit tube called a thoracoscope in the trunk between two veins. Thoracoscopy makes it possible to the doctor to look inside the trunk and to obtain fabric samples. If cancer is in the abdomen, the doctor can carry out a peritoneoscopy. To obtain fabric for the examination, the marks of doctor a small opening in the abdomen and insertions a special instrument invited a peritoneoscope in the abdominal cavity. If these procedures do not bring back enough fabric, a surgery diagnoses wider can be necessary.
If the diagnosis is mesothelioma, the doctor will want to learn the stage (or the width) from the disease. The scaffolding implies more tests in a careful attempt to discover if cancer drew aside and, if so, to which parts of the body. To know the stage of the disease helps the treatment of plan of doctor.
The mesothelioma is described as localized if cancer is found only on the surface of membrane where it started. It is classified like advanced if it drew aside beyond the original surface of membrane to other parts of the body, such as the nodes of lymph, lungs, wall of trunk, or abdominal bodies.
